The Water Station
“A broken faucet. A thin line of water from the spout. The sound of water. A variety of people pass by, approach, touch the water, and move on.” – Ōta Shōgo
Ōta Shōgo’s The Water Station is one of the masterpieces of the contemporary Japanese stage. Overflowing with haunting imagery, sonorous music and vivid sounds, The Water Station attempts to reduce the noise of the every day and contemplate the silence and stillness of human existence.
